Katie Gallagher, managing director of Manchester Digital, was awarded an OBE for her services to the digital technology industry in the North in the 2024 King’s New Year Honours.
Katie, who is also the founder of the NW Cyber Resilience Centre and chair of UK Tech Cluster Group, said: "I was incredibly surprised to hear I was receiving an OBE. I'm very proud to work with the amazing teams at Manchester Digital and the NWCRC, as well as our innovative tech community in the North West, which is only going from strength to strength."
Katie was appointed MD of Manchester Digital in 2011 and since then has worked tirelessly to support the innovative digital and tech industry across the North West, spearheading numerous programmes that champion diversity and encourage women into the tech industry, as well as working closely with business leaders and MPs to influence policy.
Other North West tech business leaders who received honours included Tristia Harrison, group chief executive of TalkTalk Group, who has received a Damehood for her services to telecommunications in His Majesty King Charles III’s New Year’s Honours List and Andy Bell, founder of financial services provider AJ Bell was awarded a CBE.
